Ordinary people, following Jesus, making disciples who change the world one school and neighborhood at a time.
WHY VILLAGE YOUTH
We partner with families of teens, faithfully walking with them through the awesome and sometimes difficult times of middle school and high school. We strategically program light so that we can say yes to building relationships and be present in ministry for our community and local schools.
TEAM VILLAGE YOUTH
We have an amazing group of over 20 adults who are trained and background checked. We have parents of teens, former youth pastors, young adults, educators, community leaders and everything in between. Our hope is that our diverse team will be able to relate to our diverse group of teens who come from over 20 schools.
WE TAKE JESUS SERIOUSLY, NOT OURSELVES
We may play crazy games and have more than our share of fun, but we will always be about transformed lives and producing authentic followers of Jesus! We believe that being a disciple of Jesus is contagious and being around each other rubs off. We hope that Village Youth can be a place of belonging and life change so that each and every teen encounters God through their experience with us.
YOUTH GROUP NIGHTS
We meet once a month on a Sunday night from 6-7:30pm (usually 1st or 2nd Sunday) at the Historic Nolensville School (7246 Nolensville Rd) with all 6th-12th graders. Youth Group Nights are a time of discipleship, teaching, and relationship building. This time includes snacks, games, worship, music, Bible teaching, small groups (divided by age and gender), and prayer.
SMALL GROUP NIGHTS
We meet once a month on a Sunday night from 6-7:30pm (Usually 3rd or 4th Sunday) at different Village members homes; one for guys; one for girls. These nights are designed for deep relationship building and conversations about life and faith. This time includes fellowship, snacks, prayer, small groups (divided by age and gender) and digging into deep life and faith questions.
These are fun events designed for having fun together. Our Splash Events include activities like roller skating, nashville@night, tailgates at football games and much more.
We don’t exist as just the youth ministry for the Village, but also the youth ministry for the community. We partner heavily with schools and teachers in order to bring light to the sometimes dark places of middle school and high school.
DON'T COME ALONE
Bring a friend! Students who actively invite friends get more from their Village Youth experience. Friends are welcome at everything we do!
Parents are the #1 influencers of children and teens faith. But we know that parenting is both really fun and difficult. We want to partner with and walk with parents as they navigate the teenage years. We send a monthly parent email called “Intersection: where faith, family, and culture meet.” This email includes different articles, blogs, and videos we have found that we hope will be informative and helpful. We are also always up for meeting for coffee and talking more about individual things. We are currently working on providing Parent Forums where we will bring in experts to lead teaching and discussion created just for parents of teens.
